Starting Thursday (September 1), any department and organization across the Purdue system that needs help booking travel for non-employees will need to go through AAA Corporate Travel. This includes prospective faculty and staff, visiting faculty and consultants, and student organizations. Assistance includes group travel for non-employees and student organizations, which is defined as 10 or more people on a single itinerary. Anthony Travel, the University’s current travel agency, will no longer support non-employees and student organizations from Thursday.

With this change, departments and organizations will be required to use their Purdue University Purchasing Card (PCard) when using AAA Corporate Travel services for direct booking of reservations for non-employees and student organizations. The PCard now allows these charges on the card.

Reservations required for non-employee travel within 72 hours must be made by calling AAA Corporate Travel at 800-354-4514. Travel arrangements with longer lead times must be requested online via the AAA Purdue Business Travel Reservation Form for Non-Employees. An AAA Corporate Travel agent will then contact you within three business days to confirm reservations.

As travel agency services transition from Anthony Travel to AAA Corporate Travel, Purdue Travel will pay transaction fees associated with travel for non-employees of the University department until September 19. Effective September 20, departments will be responsible for transaction fees for all non-employee travel. Student organizations will be responsible for all transaction fees assessed by AAA Corporate Travel, effective Thursday.

Purdue Travel will continue to cover transaction fees for faculty, staff and students at the West Lafayette, Fort Wayne and Northwest campuses for travel booked through AAA Corporate Travel.

Those at Purdue Global, Purdue Polytechnic High School, and non-employees and student organizations at all Purdue campuses will be eligible for Purdue’s negotiated rates and discounts for travel arrangements booked through AAA Corporate Travel.

Anthony Travel will no longer provide services to Purdue employees and others traveling on University business as of September 20. AAA Corporate Travel will become Purdue’s full-service travel agency for these individuals, including faculty, staff and students. At that time, AAA Corporate Travel will become the University’s preferred travel booking method, in addition to Concur. On an exceptional basis, Purdue Athletics will continue to partner with Anthony Travel for their travel needs.

Additional information on the travel agency transition and process for employees will be shared in the coming weeks.
